A traffic accident near Postoloprta in the Louny region claimed one human life on Friday afternoon. A car came out of the way, crashed into a tree and caught fire. A person inside the vehicle suffered fatal injuries, said police spokeswoman Alena Bartošová.

Only the burnt-out wreck remained from a Renault car, which caught fire on Wednesday afternoon in the tunnel of the D1 motorway near Klimkovice in the Ostrava region. The flames destroyed the car within minutes. Due to the intervention of firefighters, the traffic in the tunnel was closed.

Car fires are one of the most common events for firefighters.
